DRIFTWOOD ARTEvery spring artist Bonnie Jane and her team make their pilgrimage to the miles and miles of pristine beaches of Quebec’s Magdalene Islands.
Amidst the wild beauty of the scenery they gather their handpicked sun-bleached driftwood pieces. The annual crop of thousands of pieces is carefully sized and packed to begin its boat journey down the St Lawrence River to the artist’s Montreal studio. Each carefully chosen piece of driftwood will become part of a prized object of decorative art and design shaped in the form of a mirror frame, a star, angel wings, tree, centerpiece, sculpture…. Bonnie Jane creates these unique art pieces on demand in order to foster harmony within a home or office setting. |
BARN QUILTS
After her visual discovery of these colourful boards, Barn Quilt, in Virginia, Bonnie-Jane used her own artistic language to create these wooden boards might they be seen from far away or at close range on outdoor buildings or interior walls. Using the hard edge painting technique each Barn Quilt designed and executed by Bonnie Jane has its own personality.
Enhanced by modern shapes, clean lines and bold colors these artworks are simple yet beautiful. Made to measure on a small to big scale, from a pattern and palette of colours chosen by the artist or by the client if he wishes so, these unique pieces serve as modern beacons in an outdoor environment and as a statement of personality in an indoor environment. TERRITORY & TOPOGRAPHY
The paintings on wood of Bonnie Jane Design have their origins in the fusion between the surrounding wilderness and the wild beaches of Quebec’s Magdalen islands.
Constantly swept by wind, the sand and sea landscape evolves as time goes by. Artist Bonnie Jane creates fluid shapes, staged in a palette of colours inspired by the territory and topography of the islands to offer the eye a fragile and harmonious image of nature and its environment. View more>> |
